Set your mind on the things above.

The old man is who we were in Adam.

The new man is who we are in Christ.

The old man was crucified.

This discussion of the old man is in reference to something - our former manner of life.

When we examine WHAT IT IS about the OLD MAN that we are to PUT AWAY, …

… the package includes thoughts as well as behaviors.

The love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit. ROM 5:5

God established us together in Christ and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.
1CO 1:21-22

God has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ, 2CO 4:6.

The former manner of life had to do with the mind (futility), with understanding (darkened), ....

…with ignorance as opposed to truth, with a hard heart…with thinking.

“They” are the unbelievers.

The hearts of BELIEVERS are spoken of VERY DIFFERENTLY in the New Testament epistles.

The old man - in reference to this former manner of life - is being corrupted.

This way of life includes both behavior and thinking.
