Purifying a people for His own possession

MAT 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Hypocrisy is saying one thing but being, and doing, the opposite.

Saying you believe something but acting like you don’t really believe it.

JOH 14:15
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

JOH 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.”

For the pure in heart, how they live matches what they claim to believe.

JAM 1:5-8

Being double-minded is the opposite of being pure in heart or single-minded!

JAM 1:22-27

If you are pure in heart, when you hear the word, you do what it says.

Deception is the opposite of purity.

Religion here means the practical living out of what you claim to believe.

You may think you are living the Christian way of life, but -

if you cannot control your tongue, then you are not going to get very far with that.

COL 3:8-10

The old man has a wicked TONGUE!
