Practical Christianity:

Will you stand or fall in the coming storm?

JAM 1:22-27

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

The antidote to being delusional is to examine our own work and to do good.

TIT 2:11-15

Paul is just as concerned as James is about the danger that lurks in the seductive lie

the seductive lie that grace means it doesn’t matter what we do.

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

Did you know that Paul in one of his letters uses the exact same terms - hearers versus doers?

ROM 2:9-13

To be a doer of the Law is IMPOSSIBLE without being born again and indwelt by the Spirit.

ROM 3:9-10, ROM 3:19-26
ROM 8:1-4

We find ourselves as born again Christians in the position to fulfill Romans 2:13!!

ROM 2:13

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

You’re only kidding yourself.

You’ll see clearly what’s in your heart when you examine your deeds - your ways.

There’s only one cure!

JAM 1:21-22

if we do not put into practice what we hear from God’s word, …

…we will forget,
and start to lie to ourselves all over again.

JAM 1:21-25

Time to head to the classroom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

LUK 6:46-49

In the Bible the house is a symbol for our soul.

MAT 7:24-27

JOH 13:12-17
JOH 14:18-24
JOH 15:10-14
