Waiting out IrmaPs 107:28-32 28 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, 29 He caused the storm to be still, 30 Then they were glad because they were quiet, 31 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, 32 Let them extol Him also in the congregation of the people, We’re in the perfect book right now for dealing with something like a hurricane. I’m talking about the book of Colossians. He is supreme over all things. He is in charge of everything – including hurricanes. And He is all-sufficient. He gives us everything we need –even when we need to get through a hurricane. He can take His pinky finger and push that hurricane anywhere He wants it to go. Matt 8:23-27 And He is interceding for us, right at this moment, at the Right Hand of the Father. Our Father, the one who loves His children like crazy... And you can take that to the bank, because it’s backed up with the fact that when we were His enemies He gave us His precious Son, God’s Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The God who has promised that all things are working together for good – all things, including hurricanes – for us who love Him. And you know, there are some good things – like people realizing they need the Lord – that require a hurricane to bring about. Other good things too - like learning how to be grateful to the Lord in all things – even in a hurricane. So watch for Him at work in the coming days. Finally, I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth… Nor category five hurricanes… None of it None of it will ever be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Because that’s where we are now, and where we’ll always be. So hunker down… Put on your favorite music while you still have power. And try to find a few minutes today to thank the Lord for His blessings. Phil 4:4-7 Refresh your mind about your greatest blessings. They are found in Ephesians 1. Grab that list of things that tell you who you are in Christ…have that close by too. http://www.lbible.org/index.php?proc=fea&fid=42 You can also go to our web site www.lbible.org and click this icon:
And what the heck - go and read Colossians once or twice. Have I said that before? And remember - when the Lord decided to come speak to Job, He spoke out of the whirlwind. So when the storm is raging most fiercely, listen to the Lord speaking to you. Hear His word. He’ll be saying: “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you”. That's what a loving Father who's crazy in love with His children is like.. Until the next time, we’re all …. In His grip, Pastor John If you found this helpful, please pass it on.
