Jam 4:1-10 Our laughter turns into mourning when we realize that the wages of sin is death. But this is not the end! The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus!! And the armor of God sends the principalities and powers packing. Jam 4:9-10 And mourning can be a season that prepares us for the harvest of a more humble heart. James sees the life of God’s people through the lens of the Old Testament. The Old Testament speaks to the sons of Israel, God’s earthly people. We are God’s heavenly people. Paul’s epistles teach us who we are, and how we are to live. Col 3:1-17 “You have died.” Your life is now a heavenly life. Gal 6:14 Gal 6:14 We face the same enemies as the people to whom James wrote did. Except that we face them Christ has gained the victory for us over all our enemies – – sin, death, the flesh, the world, and the principalities and powers.
