He is the Head of the body

90-95% of Broward County residents are unchurched.

Over 60% list their religion as “none”.

It’s 24% nationwide.
(but 38% of 18-29 yr.-olds.)

So why are we churches fighting over the 5%??

We have a great mission field
right in our own backyard.

More than half of the people over the age of 5 in South Florida speak a language other than English at home.

Broward County residents by race and Hispanic origin (U.S. census):

30% black

29% Hispanic/Latino

37% white non-Hispanic

3% Asian

Col 1:17-18

Heb 2:7

Christ has the preeminence now –
as far as the Father is concerned.

We have already been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

Eph 1:7-8

But the world does not yet see our redemption, because our bodies have not yet been redeemed.

Rom 8:23

Col 1:15-20

Col 1:15-20 is our glorious song of praise to our Lord Jesus Christ.

In Col 1:15-17, we have God the Son in relation to the original creation.

He is presented as the Son in the Godhead.

While in Col 1:18-20, we have God the Son incarnate: God in the flesh.

He is presented as the head of the body, the church – the new creation.

2Co 5:17

In verse 18 He is called the firstborn from the dead.

This refers to the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the God-man.

Christ is presented in His deity as supreme over the original creation.

Christ is presented in His humanity and deity as supreme over the new creation.

Col 1:20

He is the incarnate God who bore our sins in His body on the cross (1Pe 2:24).

Col 1:18

Christ is the head of the body, the church.

In Ephesians, Paul calls this a great mystery.

Eph 3:1-12

Take a concordance and read all the passages in the gospel of John and the epistles about LOVE and LOVED.
