1Pe 2:12 Excellent behavior glorifies the Lord and is an example to unbelievers. So what is this excellent behavior?
In verse 13 and 14 we are told that we are to submit to the authority of our leaders and those in authority. This means obeying the Law, paying our taxes and such.
If we conduct ourselves not in the fleshly lusts but in respect and submission for authority, honoring all people, loving the brotherhood this glorifies God. If we still do these things and suffer in spite or because of them God is pleased at our faith in Him. Act 5:28-42 Luk 20:22-25 Rom 13:1-7 1 Peter 3:1-2 wives, be submissive to your own husbands
Citizens should submit to government authority (Rom 13:1,5, Tit 3:1-10, 1Pe 2:13).
The universe will submit to Jesus (1Co 15:27) and Eph 1:22).
Unseen spiritual beings submit to Jesus (1Pe 3:22).
Christians should submit to their church leaders (1Co 16:15-16 and 1Pe 5:5).
Wives should submit to husbands Col 3:18 Tit 2:5 1Pe 3:5, Eph 5:22-24
The church should submit to Jesus (Eph 5:24).
Servants should submit to masters Tit 2:9, 1Pe 2:18
All Christians should submit to God. Heb 12:9, Jam 4:7
Husbands are to love and honor their wives as Christ loves the Church Eph 5:25-28 1Pe 3:7
1Pe 3:8 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; What about fear of suffering? 1Pe 3:13-22
