Is it really better to give than receive ?
Acts 20:35
God commands Christians to give in a number of ways
Rom 12:10-13; Pro 3:9-27

God has given some believers the spiritual gift of giving but God commands everyone to give whether they have the gift or not.
Rom 12:6-8
Giving is honoring to the Lord. We were made for this!

Giving expresses thanksgiving to our Lord for the blessings we have received.

Giving provides a positive example to those who need God.

Tithing was a system of tax under the Mosaic law for the primary purpose of supporting the Levitical priests and is not mandatory to the Church today. Num 18:21,28
