You have words of eternal life

Joh 6:60-71

The words of Christ separate people.
They divide people into two camps.

How do they respond to Christ’s words?

They could not accept that Jesus was who He said He was.

The words of Jesus bring each person to the fork in the road of their heart.

Joh 3:18

In one camp live the ones who have believed in Christ. They have eternal life.

In the other camp exist the ones who do not believe in Christ.

They have no life in themselves, and remain under the wrath of God.

There is no third camp.

Joh 6:60-62

Before it was the religious Jews. Now His own disciples are grumbling.

Being a disciple is not the same thing as being a believer.

It’s certainly not the same thing as being a member of the body of Christ.

But there will be a division even among the twelve.

Jesus is relentless.
Do you believe I am who I say I am?

Joh 6:63-65

Joh 3:6

There are only two kinds of human beings: those who are born of the flesh only.

And those who are born of the Spirit after being born of the flesh.

Rom 8:5-8

If they believed that Jesus was God’s Son,

they would live on every word that came from His mouth.

Joh 6:64-65

The words that He spoke would ultimately reveal who was who.

Heb 4:12-13

The word of God divides people. Especially the word of the cross.

1Co 1:18

Jesus’s words divided His audience in chapter 6.

Who indeed!

Only these -

Joh 1:12-13

Joh 6:65

Joh 5:37-47

Joh 6:66-71

The way is narrow that leads to life. Jesus is that way.

He asked them for their sake. It was time for them to speak.

We hang on every word that comes from Your lips.

Simply this: they believed He was who He said He was.
