Spiritual Gifts Part 133:   Sealed with the Spirit, we are given our spot on the team.

F. The sealing ministry of the Holy Spirit, 2Co 1:22; Eph 1:13-14; Eph 4:30.

Sealing with the Spirit means that God the Holy Spirit, by virtue of the fact that He indwells us permanently, is the seal placed by God the Father upon every believer, …

…marking  us with His ownership, approval, protection, and signature guarantee of our eternal security.

The sealed one is complete forever  and will be conformed to the image of Christ in glory, Rom 8:29.

The sealing with the Spirit is the mark of our God who is fully committed to carrying out the glorification of the believer, Rom 8:30.

The sealing with the Spirit is completely a work of God’s grace.

Grace is free, limitless, unmerited blessing to helpless, undeserving sinners from the loving God who is completely satisfied by the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom 11:6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.

Sealing also indicates security. When the ruler puts His seal on something, He becomes responsible for its safekeeping and integrity.

The seal is there for God to see as an emblem of His prize and handiwork, Eph 2:10.

We appropriate the benefits of the sealing by learning what the Word of God tells us concerning this ministry, and, believing these facts to be true about us, living accordingly.

(1)  The guarantee of the ministry of efficacious grace.

(2)  The guarantee that you have eternal life.

(3)  The guarantee that you have eternal security in time.

(4)  The guarantee of your very own invisible assets.

(5)  The guarantee that you will have a resurrection body forever.

The seal is the last step, and all that has come before and been put in place is made secure by the seal.

Verse 4: we are chosen for privilege and set apart and made blameless before Him

Verse 5 : we have been given a predetermined plan for each of us, and we have been set in place as the adult sons and daughters of God the Father.

Verse 6 tells us that we have been accepted in the Beloved.

Verse 7 teaches us that we have been forgiven and redeemed, and verses 8 and 9 state that God’s will has been revealed to us.

In verses 10 and 11 we discover that we have an eternal inheritance because of our union with Christ.

Then in verses 12 and 13 we come to the point where God places His seal on all these blessings by sending the Holy Spirit to indwell us.

Why has He sealed me with the Holy Spirit?

What does this prepare me for? What does this enable God to perform in and through me?

What’s the reason?  What is the “so that”?  What is the design, the expected outcome, the end game, the goal?

Look for the next “therefore” that follows the doctrinal verse in question.

Look for the next “so that” or “that”.

Find the next statement or statements that are in the imperative mood, the mood of exhortation or command.

Forgive others.

Love others.

Be obedient to the word of God.

Be aware of the Angelic Conflict swirling around you.

Show Christ to believers and unbelievers.

Prayer

Wisdom

Knowing and living in the surpassing greatness of His POWER toward us who – who keep on BELIEVING!

After all, we are His body, the fullness of Christ who fills all in all.

1. Learn things and claim them as our own. 2. Keep on believing.

Confidence concerning your eternal destiny gives you courage to face today’s trouble.

Sit
Walk
And Stand

1st 3 chapters – sit and learn about all the marvelous things God did for you because you believed in His Son.

Chapters 4, 5, and the first 10 verses of chapter 6:  now walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called.

Chapter 6, verses 11-24:  stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Rely on the full armor from God and pray pray pray !

The sealing ministry with God the Holy Spirit is a positional truth, and so you might thing it really “belongs” only in chapters 1-3.

Eph 4:30   Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

The verse itself is part experiential (don’t grieve the Holy Spirit) and part positional (by whom you were sealed).

The sealing ministry of God the Holy Spirit is very relevant for our DAILY WALK.

We are now set up to have things pour out of us!!!

The sealing ministry of the Holy Spirit is airlifted out of the positional home and dropped right into our daily walk as a constant reminder to us.

1Co 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
