Spiritual Gifts Part 236: In the silent time, God is at work in the inner man.

And as Abraham grows up, the Lord introduces a fuller revelation, and a more impossible challenge.

Abraham teaches us to respect the vital element of TIME in maturing us in the spiritual life.

In the silent times of our lives, God wants to develop patience and perseverance in the inner man.

Psa 27:14
Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.

The sixth saying of the cross can be described by the word victory.

Joh 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished [tetelestai] !" And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.

When the Lord Jesus Christ said "it is finished”, He expressed the fact that the work of salvation was complete.

Joh 19:28
After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished [tetelestai] , to fulfill the Scripture, said,
" I am thirsty."

As a representative analogy of His spiritual death on the cross, the blood of Christ cleanses from all sin.

When He said, "It is finished”, He made it very clear that to add anything to the finished work of salvation is sheer blasphemy!

"It is finished" is a single word in the original Greek, Tetelestai!

There was His resurrection, ascension, and session on high, but these are the fruit and the reward for that work which He completed.

"It is finished" was the declaration on the part of the Divine Redeemer that all for which He came from heaven to earth to do was now done.

All which was needed to completely reveal the glorious character of God had now been accomplished.

taking away of the sins of the world,
satisfying the justice and righteousness of God, and destroying the barrier between God and man.
