Abraham teaches us to respect the vital element of TIME in maturing us in the spiritual life. In the silent times of our lives, God wants to develop patience and perseverance in the inner man.
/“those who wait” is the Hebrew participle (verb functioning as a noun) of the verb qavah Its primitive root meaning was to collect, bind together, perhaps by twisting. It depicted a fine thread woven into a giant rope that cannot be broken.
This pictures a faith that derives its strength from outside itself.
