Spiritual Gifts Part 237: Are you at the end of your rope?

And as Abraham grows up, the Lord introduces a fuller revelation, and a more impossible challenge.

Abraham teaches us to respect the vital element of TIME in maturing us in the spiritual life.

In the silent times of our lives, God wants to develop patience and perseverance in the inner man.

/“those who wait” is the Hebrew participle (verb functioning as a noun) of the verb qavah

= to wait or look eagerly for, linger for, expect

Its primitive root meaning was to collect, bind together, perhaps by twisting. It depicted a fine thread woven into a giant rope that cannot be broken.

This pictures a faith that derives its strength from outside itself.

Ecc 4:12
And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.

Psa 27:14
Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.
