makrothumia is patience exhibited under ill treatment by a person, while hupomone is patience shown under trials, difficulties and hardships.

Real patience can only come as a grace gift from God.

Col 1:11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness [hupomone] and patience [makrothumia]

God is at work producing mature sons who can step in and take on the amazing calling and destiny He has waiting for those who love Him.

The Bible tells us that church age believers will one day rule over angels! 1Co 6:3.
