3. Reward:
to each according to his deeds; crowns.

At the Bema Seat judgment, the overcoming believers will be promoted.

The crown of life – is contingent on three factors:

Those who love the Lord.
Those who persevere under trial.
Those whose virtue has been tested

The word for “approved” is dokimos.  When Paul said (1Co 9:27) he did not want to be disqualified (a castaway), that word is adokimos – the opposite.
