Some of the best things in life are silent

a. The invitation of God the Father to believe in Jesus Christ.

b. The election of the believer where the unique equality factor of the Church-age takes place!

You’re a new creature in Christ and your call is to your spiritual life.

2PE 3:18
"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

The "hope of your calling" is the absolute confidence that when you believe in Jesus Christ you have eternal life!

1TH 5:24
Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

When you respond to the invitation and believe in Christ, God provides for you everything that you need in salvation!

In the same way, when you are elected, God provides everything you will need for all of eternity plus the opportunity for fantastic blessings in time and in the eternal state!

The "calling" is the doorway into election where the believer has the opportunity to receive God’s highest and best.

2CO 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

the accusative singular noun eklogen which should be translated “election”. It is related to the tremendous motivation ordained for you in the predesigned plan from God the Father.

Therefore, because He willed the highest and best for each one of us, He gave us "equal privilege" and "equal opportunity" to have this highest and best.

"of the upward call" is the definite article tes and then the adverb ano = “above” or “upward”, and then the gen sing fem noun from klesis which is klesseos correctly translated “calling”, but it means an invitation or a vocation.

This is a possessive genitive in the Greek which should literally be translated “belonging to” that upward call or station.

Paul is not seeking escrow blessings for time, such as materialism and overt prosperity;
instead he is seeking the things above: given in time and in the eternal state.

Going through those so-called mundane times in life, but these can really be the times when God is silently at work in your life behind the scenes without you even knowing about it.

2CO 5:16
Therefore from now on we recognize no man according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

All thought utilizes silent words and is really conversation with your inner self.

Elijah learned the lesson that the Lord was not in the wind, the Lord was not in the earthquake, the Lord was not in the fire...
But then after the fire, Elijah heard that still small or literally silent voice.

Mat 10:13
"If they are not children of peace, your peace will return to you again."
