Acts 2:1-42

Location: Jerusalem, the world capital of the Jews

Occasion/Significance: Pentecost, a Jewish feast, and the first time the Holy Spirit descends on church age believers.  First preaching in Acts.

Major points of the Gospel preaching:

1.  Explains the pouring out of the Spirit on the disciples by referring to Joel 2:28-32.

2.  Refers to the miracles of Jesus.

3. Tells the Jews that THEY nailed Jesus to the cross.

4. The good news – the RESURRECTION!!

5.  Jesus is LORD! By referring to David’s words in Psalm 16:8-11.

“repent” =  Jews must change their mind about who their Messiah and Lord is – Jesus Christ!
