The Law came in WHY?

The Law came in WHY??
Neither our sins nor our sinful nature have anything to do with our condemnation.
Adam’s transgression alone resulted in our condemnation.
And it’s not our new life in Christ, or our walking worthy, that has anything to do with our being declared righteous by God,
but only one act: Christ’s death on the cross.
The power of grace is MUCH GREATER than the power of sin.
“As of January 1, 2015 polygamy shall be illegal and punishable by a fine of no less than ,000 and 3 years in prison.”
It does NOT say that the Law came in so that the transgression would cease!
It’s grace and grace alone that comes in so that the transgression would decrease and cease.
The place of the Law in God’s plan of salvation.
It doesn’t save us. The Law cannot give life.
The Mosaic Law doesn’t even condemn us. (We were all condemned by the one sin of Adam)
What then was the function of the Law given through Moses??
Here in verse 20 we are told that the Law entered in alongside the sin that had previously (in verse 12) entered into human history.
The Law entered in alongside in order that the transgression, the actual sins and offences of man, might increase.
1. The Law increases the knowledge of sin. Rom 3:20; Rom 7:7.
The Law defines sin. Rom 4:15, Rom 5:13.
The Law helps us to understand the real nature of sin. Rom 7:13.
The Law reveals the terrible grip sin has taken on the human heart.
The Law brings out the awful deceitfulness of sin. Rom 7:11.
2. The Law increases the conviction of sin, Rom 3:19, Rom 7:13.
3. The Law incites men to sin. Rom 7:5,8,11.
4. The Law is our schoolmaster to lead us to Christ our Savior. Gal 3:22-24.
