God is training up sons and daughters

Col 3:1-17

And this all occurs in an environment of FREEDOM for our heart, not coercion.

Gal 5:1

Where the Spirit is, (our heart), there is liberty, 2Co 3:17.
 

1. Put away the bad old attitudes and behaviors.

2. Have your mind renewed by having the word richly dwell within you.

3. Step forward by putting on the good new heart attitudes and behaviors.

Rom 6:12-13

We are the ones who lay aside the deeds of darkness - by means of the Spirit.

We will enter into a battle over this – one we lose if we fight in our own strength.

Once we decide we want to have this stop, and fail in our own attempts,

We slip into simple faith: this can only be done by the grace of God and by the work of the Spirit!

We find that we (us in partnership with the Spirit) have the power to put them aside.

The best way not to succumb to the temptation to put those filthy old clothes back on –

– is to be wearing the new clothes instead!

By grace God provides…and by faith we appropriate what God provides.

Faith is a gift – a gift intended to be used regularly!

Putting away anger and putting on compassion.

Putting away wrath and putting on kindness.

Putting away malice and putting on humility.

Putting away slander and putting on gentleness.

Putting away abusive speech and putting on patience.

Putting away fear and putting on God’s love.
