What overflowing grace looks like.

The power of grace is MUCH GREATER than the power of sin.

Paul takes the opportunity in these two verses to give us an amazing summary of the whole Gospel.

ROM 5:20-21 is a compact summary of everything covered to this point in the letter.

Sin reigned

Romans 1:18-3:20

Righteousness

Romans 3:21-4:25

Grace

Romans 5

Romans 6, 7, and 8 are an extended commentary on verses 20 and 21 at the end of chapter 5.

Sin knocked off the throne is the subject of Romans 6.

The law coming in so the transgression would increase is explored in Romans 7.

The reign of grace is the subject of Romans 8.

State a negative, and then write “BUT”, and then say something that presents the good news of the gospel.

The Greek word is a superlative, not a comparative.

Are we moved by the victory of grace over sin?

What God has done in Christ dwarfs and engulfs everything else - even God’s amazing work of creation!
