Accountability to our Father:
Practical Christianity, part 1.

ROM 8:38-39

MAR 10:13-16

We remain accountable to God after being made His child.

Chapters 9, 10, and 11 of the book of Romans present God’s plan for Israel in view of the gospel of righteousness by faith.

Chapter 9 retells God’s past dealings with Israel.

Chapter 10 discusses God’s present dealings with Israel .

Chapter 11 foretells God’s future dealings with Israel.

Romans 12 marks a major shift in the book of Romans, from teaching to commands.

It deals with practical Christianity, how we are to live.

Romans 12-15 is very similar to the letter of James.

James gives exhortation. Clear and direct commands. Very concise.

The letter of James contains a higher frequency of imperative verbs than any other New Testament book.

The closest parallel to James in the New Testament is in Romans 12:9-21.

ROM 12:9-21

Full of commands. Clear, simple, direct. No room for debate.

ROM 12:1-3

ROM 12:1 is a command.

We are accountable to God our Father for our obedience or disobedience to that command.

We will all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. We will face a judgment.

The judgment will be based on deeds done in the body, whether good or bad.
