JOH 3:9-21

For God so loved the world

God always provides reliable witnesses who can testify to the things God wants to reveal to the people.

He contrasts earthly things with heavenly things.

What are the earthly things?

The kingdom will be established on earth. The people who are born again are on the earth.

What are the heavenly things?

The Son of Man who descended from heaven.

The glory of the Son and of the Father.

Eternal life.

God in heaven sending His Son into the world.

The Son of Man is qualified to speak of heavenly things. He comes from heaven.

DAN 7:13-14

The Son of Man is a title for the Messiah, the Christ.

The title emphasizes His lowliness and humanity (MAT 8:20),

His suffering and death (LUK 19:10), and His future reign as King (Matt 24:27).

JOH 3:14-15

NUM 21:4-9

But one look of faith at the serpent on the standard and God gave them new life.

JOH 3:14-15

Whoever believes in Jesus will have eternal life.

JOH 3:16-17

God loves all the people of the world.

EPH 2:1-10

God sent His Son into the world.
He had one motive: love.

He had one purpose:
to save the world. Every human being.

Jesus is the Savior of the world.
All men and women. Especially of believers.

It was never God’s intention that anyone be judged and thrown in the Lake of Fire.

JOH 3:18

The vast majority of human beings never pass from spiritual death to spiritual life.

They refuse to believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

They despise the love of God on display in the death of His Son.
