And you were dead…

GEN 2:16-17

We began with the perfect humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Next, we observed man as he was originally created by God.

Now we are turning our attention to man after the fall of Adam.

One day he would return to the dust of the earth.

Adam and Eve had children. And their children had children. What were they like?

GEN 6:5-6

The whole human race was now wicked and sinful.

ROM 1:28-32

They didn’t turn into monsters. They were born monsters!

PSA 58:1-3

Every man with a human father inherits the sinfulness of Adam.

PSA 51:5
PSA 14:2-3

Adam rebelled. And that rebellion spread to the entire human race.

Because Adam sinned, death spread to the entire human race.

ROM 5:12

What is the nature of this death? What kind of death is this?

The Bible speaks of other kinds of death besides physical death.

JOH 5:24
1TI 5:5-6
ROM 6:2

But what kind (s) of death spread to all men from Adam?

Physical death certainly spread to all men from Adam.

EPH 2:1-3

Now this cannot be physical death.
These “dead” walk, and live, and indulge.

Death is the absence of life. What kind of life is absent here in EPH 2:1-3?
