What is the first commission the apostles received?

The believer who doesn’t submit to the yoke of Christ remains in the condition of a slave.
The believer who does submit to the yoke of Christ - continuing in His word - gets called a friend by Christ.

Slaves of Christ carry out their voluntary service not only to Him but also in imitation of Him!

He is our leader when it comes to patiently enduring suffering for the glory of God and the benefit of others.

Mark 1:11
and a voice came out of the heavens: " You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased."

A King - and not just any king but rather the King of Kings - a King became a slave so the slaves could become members of Royalty.

Jesus choose to be a doulos, and He will honored forever as the kyrios!

On that day, all - all angels, all humans, fallen & elect, believer and unbeliever - all will acknowledge that He is and always was our true Master, shepherd and Lord!

Answer: 7 times. 7 times in 7 verses. Seven times in Romans 1:1-7 Paul refers to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Name: Paul.
Master: Christ Jesus.
Spiritual gift: apostle.
Purpose: the gospel.

This slave by the name of Paul is a “called apostle”.

κλητὸς ἀπόστολος

kleetos apostolos

So here and in several of his other letters Paul takes pains to emphasize that he is most definitely an authentic apostle and so designated by Christ Himself.

He didn’t assume an office;
he was called by Christ to represent Him.

Apostolos is the Greek word that is translated here “apostle”.

Transliterate = to change (letters, words, etc.) into corresponding characters of another alphabet or language: to transliterate the Greek ? as ch.

All apostles are disciples, but not all disciples are apostles, LUK 6:13.

They were chosen by the Lord, and appointed by Him to a special and unique office called “apostle”.

Apostolos is an Attic Greek word, and was in use for over 500 years before it landed in the New Testament.

The Koine Greek of the New Testament replaced Attic Greek around the 4th century BC. In other words, Attic Greek was the father of Koine Greek.

apostolos was first used for a high-ranking admiral or general officer chosen by counsel to command an Athenian fleet on a military expedition.

The governor of the founded colony was called an apostolos.

The word apostolos in the New Testament is used to mean a delegate, a messenger, one sent with orders and with full authority.

The person sent is as the person who sends.

The apostolos has a charge and a calling to represent the person and cause of Another.

The spiritual gift of apostle functioned from AD 30 to AD 96 while the New Testament scriptures were being written.

The apostles were commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ personally. He sends them with authority.

Luke 6:12
It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.

Luke 6:13
And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles:

Luke 6:12
It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.

Luke 6:13
And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles:

God is Love because God is three Persons who loved One Another before the world was.

We can only relate to them in terms of being one who is sent.

But most of all, in the midst of being called up, never forget that the Lord has desired most of all that you remain close to Him and be with Him forever.
