The Activity of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Church Age believers, part 37.

Why have we received the Holy Spirit?

For one thing: that the Lord may be able, by means of us, to maintain the testimony in this world while He is away.

The Lord has brought His Church into being for the specific purpose of displaying the power of His resurrection.

The condition is death.

He allows things to get so desperate that there is no other power in the universe that can deliver us from the situation….

The power of His resurrection!

The church is the Lord’s vessel for demonstrating the power of His resurrection.

The only way we know for sure it is resurrection power is when it conquers death, something beyond human ability to touch.

Resurrection is God’s act, and God’s alone.

EPH 2:7
so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

The issue is life, eternal life, resurrection life, and the Holy Spirit expressing that life through you…

…and how God has an enemy who hates righteousness and life and is a murderer and liar from the beginning.

JOH 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly”.

And have that life ABUNDANTLY, meaning that, despite the pressure and attacks, God is supreme…

…and He allows the attacks simply to deepen your experience of His life, and enlarge your capacity to register that life on this lost and dying world.

And to bring you back to first things first, and with God, the first thing is His love.
