Practical Christianity:

“If you love Me,
you will keep
My commandments.”

One excellent way to summarize the message in James is to listen to the Lord Jesus Christ in the Beatitudes.

MAT 5:1-12

Mat 5: 8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Hypocrisy is the opposite of being pure in heart.

Hypocrisy is saying one thing but being, and doing, the opposite.

“A hypocrite is the kind of politician who would cut down a redwood tree, then mount the stump and make a speech for conservation.”

Saying you believe something but acting like you don’t really believe it.

MAT 6:1-6

You say you love the Lord.

But the pure in heart live in keeping with what it means to love the Lord.

What DOES it mean to love the Lord?

Here’s what HE says:

EXO 20:1-6

JOH 14:11-15; JOH 14:18-21

JOH 14:15
“ If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

JOH 15:10-17

JOH 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.”

1JO 5:1-4

ROM 5:1-5
